Subject: [WLS-BRE] 1841 census - PRICE family search
I've just bought the Powys FHS 1841 BRE census for the Hundred
of Merthyr Cynog as I was convinced (!! always dangerous!!) I'd
find my PRICE family there, as I knew they were in Llanfaes in
November 1841 (Magdalen's birth certificate) and there at Pen-y-
Pentre in 1845 (St David's baptism records), but of course they just
don't appear! I do realise that people often returned to their "home"
parish for baptisms/births etc which may be what has happened.
Could anyone help locate them for me, either in 1841 or 1851???
In 1841 their names and ages (where known) should be as follows:
Thomas PRICE probably a labourer
Catherine PRICE
William PRICE age 4/5
David PRICE age 2/3
In 1851 Thomas, William and David should be there 10 years older
plus:
Magdalene PRICE age 9
Edward PRICE age 5
Their mother Catherine may have died and been replaced by new
wife Elizabeth and child Ann age 4, but that's conjecture.
If anyone can shed any light on their whereabouts, then I would be
extremely grateful.
If anyone needs a look-up for the 1841 Hundred of Merthyr Cynog
then I'd be more than happy to try.
Thanks
Cate Wallace
