Subject: Evan Davies, BRECON - 1825-1830

Dear all,
On finding my 3x grandparents in the 1851 for Aberdare, Glamorgan and then
the 1841 for Brecon census, I was surprised to discover that my 3x
grandmother was born in Yatton, Somerset - surprised inasmuch as to date I
have no other ties to that county.
Evan Davies was born in 1809 in Builth, he married Christiana (surname
unknown), probably between 1825 and 1830. He was a stonemason. Christiana
was born in 1809 in Yatton, Somerset, Their first child, also called
Christiana was born in Brecon in 1831. Their other children were born in
Brecon or Aberdare.
In 1841 Evan and Christiana were living in Brecon St Johns. By 1851 they
had
mo-ved to Aberdare. I cannot find them after 1851, neither in the census,
nor in the BMD deaths.
I am now trying to trace Evan and Christianas marriage.
A local inquiry in Yatton on the suspicion that they married in her home
parish proved negative.
Another likely possibility is that Christianas family moved from Somerset
to Brecon, where she met Evan.
I realise that looking for an Evan Davies is like looking for a grain of
sand on a beach, but I think Christianas name will hopefully prove to be
the key.
I have already tried the marriage bonds on the LLGC site, with no luck.
Could somebody possibly look up the marriage in the Parish Registers? On a
hunch I would think that Brecon St. Johns would be most likely.
Any help most welcome.
Dewi
