Hi Pam,
Good to hear from you! Believe it or not, I'm still looking for one
crucial piece of evidence in Missouri for the years 1905-1920. Even though
I know from what my husband's father told me and from the documents I've
obtained so far, I still can't prove the crucial link between Thomas Rees
Martin of Wales and his son, Thomas Reece Martin of Missouri, even though I
know it as fact. Even after a professional search, they do not appear on
the 1910 US census, and it seems that Thomas Rees, Sr. did not own any land,
so I can't even search for deed records.
I'll find the proof somewhere! It's just going to take me some time. And
after I get that information (whatever it may be) I'm ready to dive into the
records of the Martin's of Wales. And I can't wait to do that! I've got my
request to the General Registers Office all ready to go! Just have to
finish up here in the States.
Enough of my story. I will keep you and your Charles in my notes and who
knows... maybe we'll be able to link our families together.
So good of you to write and I'm always interested in learning more about the
area my husband's family came.
Joyce Martin

Hello Joyce
Just to let you know that I too have Martin's tied in with my line. A
Charles Martin and family lived at the Three Cocks Inn, near Glasbury in
the mid-
1840's. His daughter Mary Emma married James Gwynne in 1841
which is
the
family I am researching. Charles Martin and family are buried in
Glasbury
Parish Churchyard.
Breconshire.
