Hi John and Julie
I'm sure as List Administrators you have the interests of your subscribers
at heart and will continue to do your best to help us researchers, so
whatever
you decide to do, I will support.
However, I trust that it will not effect membership of Montgomeryshire
Genealogical Society and that the individual county Societies will
continue. My
ancestors were born in Montgomeryshire and so was I ~ not Powys.

Dear Shirley, and fellow listers,
The BRE, MGY, RAD, and Powys mailing lists are hosted by RootsWeb. They have
NO CONNECTION with the family history societies and genealogical societies
covering these areas.
Changes of emphasis on the mailing lists will have no detrimental effect on
membership of family history societies. Indeed, an increase in list activity
and enthusiasm may lead to an increase in interest in local family history
groups.
We would expect and encourage members of the mailing lists to join the
groups relevant to their area(s) of interest.
For Mid-Wales interests, the relevant groups are:
Montgomeryshire Genealogical Society -
http://home.freeuk.net/montgensoc/
Powys Family History Society -
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wlspfhs/
Kind regards,
John
