For a few months now we have been scanning our collection of reference
books and saving them to CD. The latest is Black's Guide to South Wales
and Monmouthshire, 1883 which has provided an entertaining Victorian
perspective on our searches for 2xgreat grandfather Henry EVANS. The
guidance on the Welsh alphabet, glossary and vocabulary for tourists
have been indispensable; and the maps, illustrations and descriptions of
the sights have helped to paint a picture, albeit rosy, of the life and
times.
Our copy was literally falling apart with use but now it is on CD we
have swift access to pages without damaging the original and perhaps
more
importantly we are able to share the resource with others. We have a few
copies available; if anyone is interested in acquiring one please go to

where you will see the style of presentation illustrated for our 1900
Kelly's Directory of Norfolk.
