I'm posting this here in case my knowledge regarding the presence of the following
person on the 1851 census index of Breconshire is incorrect.
Dear List,
Could SKS with access to the 1851 census index for the district and sub-district of
Abergavenny have a look for the following?
Thomas Jones, aged circa 22, labourer, unmarried, son of Thomas Jones, labourer
I have today received Thomas junior's 1852 marriage certificate which gave me his
father's name and occupation for that year so probably the same as the preceding year.
In the 1861 census he gives his birthplace as Llandilo which I take to be Llandeilo
Bertholau, i.e. Llantilio Pertholey because part of this parish bordered Llanelly,
Breconshire where Thomas later lived. I therefore presume that he was living in this part
of Monmouthshire in 1851 as he doesn't seem to be on the 1851 census index for
Breconshire.
Best wishes and sincerest thanks in advance.
Jamie
