My cousin went to Vaynor Parish Church this w/e and found the following MIs:
"It was a tall tombstone, like an obelisk with a cloth draped over an urn
on top. It is made of a terracotta coloured granite.
In it lies:
Catherine Vaughan of Station Hotel, Cefn Coed y Cymmer Died 5 February 1901
Aged 55 years
Thomas Vaughan of Station Hotel, Cefn Coed y Cymmer Died 19 October 1901
Aged 66 years
also Richard Rees BSC died 25 March 1978 Aged 86
Jane Hannis Daughter of Thomas & Catherine Died Rochdale July 4 1904
Aged 30"
I suspect that Richard Rees (who would have been born in 1892) might be the
grandson of Thomas and Catherine, possibly the son of their daughter Mary
Ann who was born in 1872 and was still living at home unmarried in the 1891
census.
If anyone has any connections.....
