Dear Richard,
I am also researching my Parry ancestors although have not done much work on
them. My 3 x great grandfather was a Morgan Parry who married twice, his
first wife was Mary Ann Evans my ancestor died in Cwmdeuddwr, Rhayader 12th
December 1845. His second wife was a Margaret Owen of Llangurig,
Montgomeryshire.
Morgan Parry was living in Llangurig with his wife Mary and family at the
time of the 1841 Census. Llangurig Parish borders with north east
Cardiganshire. The Cwmdeuddwr Parish borders with Llangurig and also
Cardiganshire.
Morgan's daughter Mary Ann Parry, my great, great grandmother married a John
Pryce in Llangurig Church in 1858. I have just looked at the Marriage
Certificate and see that one of the witnesses was an Edward. R. Rees!
It is unlikely that this has anything to do with your ancestors but it may
be that you should be extending your search to the Radnorshire and
Montgomeryshire areas.
Regards,
Margaret Harvey

Subject: First Posting - looking for PARRY
Dear All
As I am new to this list, I am hoping that someone can help me out with
my current 'Brick Wall'. To date, all of my Parry's have resided in
Cardiganshire, but now I am beginning to think that they might have
moved across from Breconshire.
I am looking for information regarding any details that precede a known
marriage that I have found between Morgan Parry and Mary Rees. These two
got married on 30 December 1840 in Strata Florida. I know this is in
Cardiganshire, but it is quite near to the border with Breconshire.
Mary's father was Ebenezer Rees, but I am not sure of the name of
Morgan's father.
I appreciate this is somewhat of a long shot, but I am looking for any
possible connections to break down my 'brick wall'
Thanks to all in advance
Richard Parry
