Hello Lynda,
If it helps in your process of elimination, I can tell you that there is no
baptism for a Martha JONES in the Baptism Register of St. David's Parish
Church, Llanfaes, Brecon listed from 1st January 1813 onwards.
Regards,
Glyndwr (Glyn) Davies,

Subject: [WLS-BRE] Martha JONES from Brecon
Hi everyone, I'm new to this list. I'm Lynda and I live in Melbourne
Australia.
I'm about to begin researching my ggg grandmother Martha JONES who,
according to her convict indent, was born c1815 in Brecon.
I don't even know who Martha's parents were. As she left the UK in 1835 it
would be pointless looking at the 1841. I'm hoping the LDS have filmed the
parish records for Brecon and that she was baptised. And that she really was
born in Brecon!
Does anyone know what Brecon was like way back then, was it a small village
with just one church or a large place with many? Was Martha a common
Christian name?
If anyone has any tips on how to proceed with so few clues to go on it would
be much appreciated :)
Lynda
