June
Thanks for answering my post.
If there is a connection it would have to come from some other relative of my Samuel as he
was in Aust. in 1819. He was tried at Middlesex, so anything is possible.

Hello Janette
I noticed your mention of the name POWELL in Brecon. I joined this list
because recently I found that my husbands gggrandmother who was according to
1861 census born in Brecon (however in later censuses she says Sheffield
Yorkshire). Her marriage certificate states her father as Edward POWELL.
My research upto now has been in Sheffield so this was something out of the
oridinary.
There may or may not be a connection. I have found a Sarah POWELL born in
Brecon on 1837 online but have yet to order the certificate.

Subject: [WLS-BRE] POWELL and VAUGHAN of Hay Brecon
Looking for ancestors of Samuel POWELL and his wife Mary VAUGHAN who
were
married 1813 in Hay, Brecon. Samuel was transported to Australia in 1819,
and Mary followed him.
They had 2 children out here Louisa who died young, and Robert who
produced a line of descendants of which my husband is one.
Maybe we are too early for some researchers, but any help would be
appreciated.
Janette
