I have now been informed that this is a hoax.
Do not delete this file. My anti virus company would have found it and stopped it. This file is needed as part of your Windows set up.
Sorry for inconvenience.
I am addressing this to everyone in my address book.
I have been informed that I might have been infected by this virus by being in someones addres book. I seriously doubted this, as I am covered by a privately paid for anti virus company, who have stopped many viruses entering my computer.
However , when I searched for the virus, there it was. I have now deleted it. Because you are all on my address book, you need to follow the instructions below. This is what I was sent.:-
Dear All,
I'm so sorry, but I've been infected by the Bugbear virus which is not
picked up by anti-virus systems. It sends itself to everyone in your
address
book and because I've been infected it's very likely that you will have
been
too. The instructions to delete the virus are below:
The virus (called jdbgmgr.exe) is not detected by Norton or McAfee
anti-virus systems. The virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging
the
system. It is sent automatically by messenger and by the address book,
whether or not you sent e-mails to everyone.
YOU MUST DO THIS:
1. Go to Start, then Find or Search option.
2. In the files/folders option, write the name jdbgmgr.exe
3. Be sure you search your C drive and any other drives you may have.
4. Click "find now".
5. The virus has a teddy bear icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe DO NOT OPEN
IT!!!!!
6. Go to Edit. Choose "Select All" to highlight the file without opening
it.
7. Now go to File and select Delete. It will then go into the recycle
bin.
8. Go to the recycle bin and delete it there as well. Select All,
permanently delete, etc.
IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS, YOU MUST CONTACT ALL THE PEOPLE IN YOUR ADDRESS
BOOK
SO THEY CAN ERADICATE IT IN THEIR OWN ADDRESS BOOKS.
To send this message to everyone in your address book:
1. Open a new e-mail message.
2. Click the photo of address book next to "TO"
3. Click every name and add it to "BCC"
4. Copy this message, paste to e-mail, enter subject and send.
Just remember it only takes about five minutes to do this if you follow
the
instructions as written.

Dear Listers,
This week's 'Retrospective Images of Wales' features, just uploaded onto
my website, include:
1. Studies of some of the buildings in the centre of Merthyr Tydfil in
Glamorgan - first shown on 'Images of Wales' in June 1998 (six photos).
2. Four parish churches in Breconshire - first shown in March 1999 (four
photos).
and an extra feature for this week only....
3. The village of Llanbister in the Ithon Valley, Radnorshire - first
shown on 'Images of Wales' in September 1998 (ten photos). I've recalled
these photos for display as a follow-up to our discussion about
Llanbister on the Powys List in the past few days.

Hi...Anita
I have found your family but with another name?, this took a long while ,but
I never gave up!
Now this is up to you to find out why?, Isabella was born in Ireland and
only 26, and Richard 46, could this be the boys mother and she remarried?or
living with him over the brush?
Also there is a large age gap, 16 years between the daughter and the two
boys, were the boys addopted by Richard Baker.

I am looking for my Husband's Grandfather, Leslie Crofton Aufrere
FOX. According to his passport, he was born 24 October 1878 in Hay
Hereford (Hay on Wye).
His birth is not recorded in the indexes at the Family Records Centre.
We have found him on the 1891 census in Wandsworth as Leslie CA FOX
age 11 born Herefordshire adopted child of Mrs Annie WHITE a widow
living on her own means. His brother Herbert A FOX was on the 1891
census aged 14 also born in Herefordshire and sister Eveline MA FOX
aged 8 was born in Exmouth. I have not found Leslie or Herbert on
either 1881 census or 1901 census. Eveline is on the 1901 census as
Evelyn and living in Oxford.
Leslie's father's name is listed as William FOX on his marriage
certificate and Leslie is described as second son of Col Fox in the
newspaper listing of the wedding. Family lore however has Leslie's
Father as Lt Colonel John Charles Ker FOX (or KER FOX) from Ireland
born 1851 (a descendent of Edward Long FOX of Brislington near
Bristol). He was believed to be one of the youngest children in a
large family with parents who were quite old and brothers and sisters
a great deal older.
Can anyone help us locate Leslie's birth, 1881 census record or
parents and family?
Anita

Hello to everyone. I am new to the list.
My Mary Ellen Davies b Oct 1861m Waterloo Place, Brynmawr to Joshua and
Emma Davies.
I don't have a m date for Joshua and Emma, but would assume it would be
just before 1861 as Mary Ellen was their first child. (my g grandmother)
Joshua was a tailor, as was his father, John.
Mary Ellen was married in 1881 in Rockhampton, Queensland to John
Richardson.. Mary Ellen was the first bride to travel over the newly
constructed bridge over the Fitzroy River. Rockhampton had been a
settlement since about 1859.
Joshua s/o John Davies and Mgt m Cardiganshire. Joshua's d/c says b
'Cardigan'.
(I know nothing of of John Davies and Margaret, who maiden name could
also have been Davies)
The only Joshua I have been able to find b close to 1837 appears to have
siblings of Ann and David
and could have had other siblings of Lewis, Mgt, Mary, Nancy .
Emma's parents - Benjamin and Margaret Williams m Pembrokeshire, d
Brisbane, Aust.
Emma b 1840, Llanelly, Brecon
Emma had one sister, Hannah, of whom I know nothing except that she
predeceased her parents.
So it seems possible that Ben, Mgt, Emma and Hannah cold have been in
Llanelly in 1851..
and in 1861 Joshua and Emma may appear as a married couple.
If anyone has connections, who can help with any of the above families,
it would be appreciated.
Also if anyone has easy access, to the 41, 51, or 61 census information
on the above people would also be appreciated.
If anyone knows was Waterloo Place is or was, I would be pleased to
know. an address perhaps? or a house?
Glenda,
Australia
Hi Kath,
Looked in the Brecon 1861 census but not there, looked in then 1841 Hundred
of Talgarth but bummer Llangydir parish wasn't on there. You say that on the
1851 he was with his widowed mother MARY but in the paragraph above you say
his parents were Ben and Sophia, so have you found the right Ben on the 1851
or am I just nit picking !!!!!
cheers
Rose Oz ( My mother and all her family were born in Brecon, know the area
well.)

Gathering the Jewels an Exciting New Website
Gathering the Jewels is a unique and exciting project aiming to put over
20,000
images of Welsh culture and history on the Internet. Museums, libraries and
archives from all over Wales are contributing material to the project, and the
website will include printed material, original documents, maps, photographs,
paintings, artifacts, sound and film clips, and more - a wealth of material
which brings the past to life and adds to the picture we have of our
ancestors
lives. The huge database can be searched in a number of ways, and in addition
a small number of Discovery Trails lead users in a more structured way
through certain topics. Of particular interest to family historians is the
Trail on Discovering Our Own History, which gives examples of the types of
source material to be found in libraries, archives and museums across Wales,
and guidance on how to access further similar material.
The website can be found at http://www.gtj.org.uk. As yet, only a part of the
final number of images are available, and some of the site is still under
development. Dip into it now for a taste of its amazing contents, and watch
as it grows and develops over the coming months.

Hello
Happy New Year to you all.
This is my first posting.
I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on my
Jenkins ancestors or even find a connection.
My great grandfather, Benjamin JENKINS was born about
1854-1856 in Llangynidr (1881 census info) although by
this time he was living in New Tredegar,Mon with his
parents.
His parents were Benjamin JENKINS also (born about
1824 in Llangynidr) and Sophia JONES (born about 1827
in Llanfairangel, Radnorshire).
On Benjamin and Sophias marriage certificate it states
his father as Benjamin JENKINS too!!!!!!
So thats 3 generations of Benjamin Jenkins's.
I have found Benjamin and Sophia on the 1851 census
living with his widowed mother, Mary. So I know that
the older Benjamin Jenkins died before the 1851
census.
The name Benjamin is not the only name to be passed
down the family. I have found that the name Jenkin
Jenkins is also repeated down the generations.
What I am hoping is that if anyone out there has
access to the 1841 census and/or parish registers for
that area, I'd be really grateful for any information
on this family.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Kath

Father Christmas has been good to us this year, and we are now the owners of
the Brecknock 1851 Census CD-rom, which we commend to all of you who have
ancestors who were living in Breconshire at that time. It is not in the same
league as the Glamorgan 1841 and 1851 CD's, having no 'search' facility,
only a Surname Index which is idiosyncratic to say the least, but all the
information is there if you have the patience and perseverance to hunt for
it.
There appears to be no direct print-out facility either, but it is possible
to 'copy' and then 'paste' to any word-processing document. Unfortunately,
different parts of the census use different fonts, so some 'editing' may be
necessary if you want uniformity.
Despite these niggles, it is still better than travelling to your nearest
library/record office and struggling with microfilm/fiche.
We got our copy from S&N on 01722 716121 or www.genealogy.demon.co.uk
Happy New Year and good hunting
