Just had a look at the NLW wills for Aberffraw, and there is a bond for a Thomas
Daniel who died in 1774, and the administrator is Owen Williams, son in Law, so
this could be the Daniel link.

Thanks for that advice. I will see if I can locate more information from
those
sources.
For John, the alternative set of parents for that date of 1790-91 would be
William Daniel and Jane, in which case Owen might be his brother, and
Richard
could be his uncle. (haven't yet checked before 1789 for any sons called
Owen)
The only Elizabeth daughter of a Richard or a Prichard found near to 1796
was
one in 1794, the daughter of a Richard Owen and Jane, who also had sons
Ellis
Anwyl and Owen Anwyl. Searching the pedigrees on Rootsweb I found people
exactly matching these names and dates, supposedly born in Criccieth, but
I
found their christenings in Aberffraw (clearly one of the many errors in
Griffth's Pedigrees), and the Owen and Ellis became clergymen, and took
the
surname Owen, so for their sister to take the surname Pritchard and marry
an
agricultural labourer would be to marry beneath her class (not impossible
but I
would imagine the family being less than happy about this). Richard Owen
was an
estate surveyor and Jane belonged to the Anwyl family, so rather
gentrified for
the in-laws of an agricultural labourer).
Clearly I really would like to be descended from the Anwyl family, but I
want to
ensure that I won't be disappointed if I find later on that I am barking
up the
wrong family tree.
