Can someone please ecplain this to me. I have not come across it before. it
seems to be affevting my Jone Jones or is she Hughes?

Patronymic naming systems were used in north west Wales up to the 1890's,
since which time some families who had previously adopted Surnames have
returned
to traditional Welsh naming patterns. So patronymic naming systems
have never
been a thing of the past in Wales.
As Parry is a patronymic name derived from Henry, It would look like your
Margaret's family were quite late in adopting a surname.
