Hi Lynda,
The 1901 census was taken on the 31st of March. If Lizzie were more than
3 months old, she would have been born in 1900. Have you sent for a birth
certificate to get her exact birth date? You can get this information
from the BMD's for the area of her birth. Have you tried and online
search of the BMD's? You could also look for a marriage for her from the
age of 18 on up, at least 5 years out, possibly further. It's a lot of
researching, but often worth it.
Do you have a Latter Day Saints Family Center anywhere near you? You
could order the microfiche from them for the BMD's of the area, and they
have microfiche viewers available. They are also very helpful with
researching.
Are you sure they stayed in the area of birth?
Try and find out the churches at the time, you might find a baptism or
marriage. You have to explore the chapel and church records. It's time
consuming, but necessary.
Woman are harder to track as their names change with marriage. Generally,
it's easier to follow the male ancestors. At least in my experience, the
men have been easier to find, then I can find their wives and children.
Once I find a wife, I then try to find a birth for her, leading me to a
birth certificate and the finding of her parents. Lots of researchers
don't follow the wives, but I love to have all the pieces, it's fun to see
the blending of families.
Hope I have helped a little.
Arlene
Since the list is quiet these days I will again put out a request. I
am
looking for any bit of information on a "Lizzie Lloyd HUGHES that was born
in 1901 to a John Hughes and ann Hughes, nee Lloyd. They lived in
Llanfairneubwll at the time of 1901 and Lizzie was listed on the census as
being only a few months old with a brother John. I would like to know how
I
can go about tracing Lizzie from that time frame on to perhaps locating
any
living descendants of hers. Since John Hughes her dad was my Grandfather's
brother. I am in the States and have no clue as to go about finding out if
she ever married or anything about her. Perhaps , someone on the list
might
be of help to me I would so appreciate any help on this.
Regards,
Lynda
