Were there many PARRY families in Penmon in the pre-1800's
please?
Looking
in particular for a William J. PARRY, b abt 1780's or a bit
earlier.
Lizzie,
There was a William Parry born in Penmon in 1786. This information was
kindly provided to me by Valerie Powls.
Richard Parry of Llandegfan, ANG, took up the tenancy of a farm in Penmon
in 1771 and married Ann Hughes of Llandegfan in 1773. They had the
following children:
Anne Parry, bapt. Llandegfan 1772 (tsk, tsk!)
John Parry, bapt. Llandegfan 1774
Catherine Parry, bapt. Llandegfan 1776
John Parry, bapt. Llandegfan 1778 (possibly my 3x gr. grandfather)
Lewis Parry, bapt. Penmon, 1780.
Hugh Parry, bapt. Penmon, 1783. (Valerie's ancestor)
William Parry, bapt. Penmon, 1786. No indication of a middle name, though
I would think that a second forename was quite rare in Wales in the late
18thC.
Regards,
Nigel.
