OK, Annette,
Bodior came down through the Owen or Owens families. Margaret Owen,
daughter of John Owen of Bodior, married Thomas Roberts, son of Owen Roberts
of Caerau, Llanfairynghornwy. None of their sons produced an heir. The
eldest daughter, Elizabeth Roberts, married about 1733, John Lewis of Plas
Llanfihangel, Rector of Beaumaris. Their daughter, Emma, born at Bodior
1742, married John Hampton Jones of Henllys, Llanfaes.
Although their son, John Hampton Jones, born 1775, took up the estate at
Henllys, he took the name John Hampton Hampton Lewis. I suspect this would
have been to bring together the inheritances of the Hamptons of Henllys and
the Lewis estates. So, when the census was taken, they may have been in
residence at one of their properties, Bodior. By way of interest and
confusion, John Hampton Hampton Lewis's next brother was styled Robert
Edward Hampton but called himself, correctly, Robert Edward Jones. He
became the military and civil chaplain in Port Louis, Mauritius and was, by
all accounts, very modest.
Re your interest in Chambers, Hampton Jones (Lewis) wife is described as
Mary, d. of Richard Chambers, of Whitbourn Court, and Cradley Hall,
Hereford, died 16 Jan 1842 aged 67.
I doubt if any of the above is any use to either of us but there you are.
Best wishes,
Bill.

Hi,
Bodjor, or some times spelt Bodior is a property in Rhoscolyn. When I
saw your request I recognised the Hampton name, I have most of the
Censuses for Rhoscolyn. I can tell you nothing else about the family.
John Hampton Lewis 55 Independent Bodjor Anglesey
Mary Hampton Lewis 55
Bodjor not Anglesey
Cathrin Hughes 45 farm servant Bodjor Anglesey
Elizabeth Parry 22 farm servant Bodjor not Anglesey
Elizabeth Roberts 30 farm servant Bodjor Anglesey
Elizabeth Roberts 32 farm servant Bodjor not Anglesey
Elinor Roberts 30 farm servant Bodjor not Anglesey
Hugh Thomas 30 man servant Bodjor Anglesey
Jane Williams 25 farm servant Bodjor Anglesey
They were not in Rhoscolyn 1851,
Strangely I am researching the Chambers family of Rhoscolyn.
Cheers

Many thanks, Annette. Where is Bodjor? The only John Hampton Lewis
that I
know of was born in 1775, died 1843 aged 67. He married Mary Chambers of
Hereford. However, this couple would have resided at "Henllys", Llanfaes,
as heir of the Hampton estate. He was High Sheriff of Anglesey in 1813.
Bill.
