Hello Dorothy
Thank you for contacting me re Thomas LLOYD.
I am not sure that this answer is going to be of much help.
I am repeating below the only information I know about Thomas LLoyd, I have
no information about his parents or any brothers or sisters he may have had.
Thomas LLOYD (gt gt gt grandfather) born about 1790/91, this is from census
information which is consistent for 1841, 1851 1861 and 1871. Place of birth
is more difficult in 1841 he gives Caernavon and in later census Beaumaris.
I have searched parish records in Angelsey Records Office at Llangefni and
at Caernavon and have found nothing. He died in 1879.
However I have found on
familysearch.org a ThomasLLOYD birth about 1798 in
Llandegfan, Angelsey, Wales. Parents are given as John LLOYD and Elizabeth
JONES. This record was submitted by a member of the LDS Church and may not
be 100% accurate. It needs further investigation. The LDS have the Bishop's
Transcripts for Llandegfan Parish Church on microfilm. I will try to order
this and see what I can find. I am unsure about this Thomas LLOYD because of
the age difference at marriage. As my Thomas married in 1814 to Elinor
CLOUGH who was about 24 and although the entry says with consent of parents
the Thomas born 1798 would have only been about 16. Would a 24 year old
woman marry a 16 year old boy?
Your opinion on this would be appreciated
I would be very pleased if we can make a connection.
Cheers
Hilary
