Dear List,
I wonder if someone could offer some advice.
I am undertaking some family history research for a good friend of mine and one branch of
the family is from Anglesey. But because they have the surname Jones and also common
forenames I am at a loss to know how to confirm their ancestry via the normally available
records:
The information I have:
The earliest ancestor I have is Owen Jones, Born ~1874 in Trefdraeth,
He married an Ann Jane sometime prior to 1900.
They had at least 4 children
- Jenny Jones b. 1900 in Cerigceinwen
- Maggie Ellen Jones b. 1904 in Llangadwaladr
- Richard Jones b. 1908 in Llangadwaladr
- Anne Jones b. 1910 in Llangadwaladr
in 1911 the family lived at Ty'R Felin Hermon Bodorgan in Llangadwaladr
So at this stage I am confident of the family but I am finding it difficult to move
backwards from Owen because there seem to be many possible Owen Jones' in the birth
records in Anglesey and also several marriages to an Ann.
Can anyone advise me about how to move back or have you come across this family?
Any help gratefully received.
Best Regards
Mark
