Hi Martin,
More about your Peters search...
I am now fairly sure the parish church with the Peters' graves is Llanddyfnan. I
can't be 100% sure as I am relying on memory of visits I made a few years ago. I know
the church is in open fields on the LHS when heading out of Llangefni through Talwrn.
There is an extensive carpark outside the church walls and the more I think of it, it
comes back to me as Llanddyfnan. I have now checked the Google map satellite view in order
to prompt my memory and this confirms it - church shown in open fields off the LHS of the
road just as I remember it.
I have some notes about the Peters family of this area:
Peter EVANS m. Margaret HUGHES at Llanddyfnan on 1 Jan. 1768. Both were from the parish of
Llanddyfnan.
Their children included...
Hugh PETERS b. 1768
Mary PETERS b. 1768
Catherine PETERS b. 1775
Hugh PETERS b. 1777
Mary PETERS b. 1779
Dina PETERS [1780-1868]
John PETERS b. 1783
I have recorded that daughter Dina was born at the cottage T'yn Drain in Llanddyfnan,
and her siblings as also being born in this parish. This cottage no longer exists. Her
younger brother John Peters was formal witness to Dina's wedding to Lewis Hughes
[1788-1875] at Anglesey's Llangristiolus on 14 October 1807. Both Lewis and Dina
signed their marriage record with crosses, but John managed to write it - and spelled it
'John Petters'. I have extensive info about Dina's later life if that might
help in your search.
The various headstones of the Peters family at Llanddyfnan give a broader picture of the
family than what I have passed on above.
I hope this helps.
John Lewis

Hello John,
Llanddeusant sounds a good bet as after marriage 1765 Grace would have been
buried under her married name of Williams at Llanddeusant and it says she
was of Llanddyfnan which is another good place to look. Problem being that
she maybe lived and worked at LLanddyfnan before marriage.
All good places to search as we are in Wales for 3 days soon and one will be
spent on the island.
I have a feeling I am going to have to buy some copies of BMDs from
somewhere, Gwynedd FHS appears short of them on Anglesey.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks,
Martin

Regarding the name Peters.
Peters is a surname readily found in the Llanddyfnan area of Anglesey in the
late 1700s and early 1800s.
My gggrandmother is Dina Peters [1780-1868] and born at Llanddyfnan. Her
parents were Peter Evans and Margaret Hughes of the same area.
In one of the area's local parish churches [maybe Llanddyfnan or
Llanddeusant] there are a number of headstones marking the burial of a
number of generations of this family - all using the surname Peters. These
graves are located in the back right-hand corner of the churchyard. Being in
a corner, this area is sometimes not kept as tidy as the rest of the
churchyard, but the Peters' graves and headstones are there.
