Hello Anita, no offence taken
I agree with you, the digest responses to messages lose the theme of the
message and it would be better if the original message plus Subject were
extracted from the digest and replied to via the list. That way everybody
knows what is being answered to and easier found in the Archive of messages
if searching later. However there may be good reasons why this is not done.
Sorry I do not have any EVANS and WINNs to help you with.... yet

Hello, Martin;
No offense to you. I just do not seem to understand the method of titling
the messages
and am hoping to see something someday on the WINN family. I believe I have
some
Evans also.

Hello Anita,
If this was aimed at me may I explain that I get lost with the replies from
a digest as there are so many messages on one reply and as for the EVANS
family, they all appear to have been called PETERS as a surname.
This may be Welsh Patronymics, I do not know but would be gratefull for any
explanation.
Regards,
Martin

Wasn't Message 3 supposed to be about John Lewis?
It was regarding Evans family.

Hi Debby,
no, he was not in my wife's line as by that time Bren's line had moved to
Lancashire, Salford. The last Thomas in Bren's family was born 1852 in
Llandegla, Denbighshire and up to now I have not followed his line .All the

Hi,
I was wondering if you have a Thomas Williams, b 1868? in your tree. The
family lived in Llanleilan, Anglesey but came to the USA in abt 1881,
bringing a Jane Griffiths b 1872, with them. Jane was from Amlwch. Thanks.

Peter is an unusual Christian name in North Wales. Presumably, by the only
possible baptism, you mean on the IGI? Hardly any Gwynedd PRs are included
on the IGI for the 1700s. You can check dates on searching Google for "IGI
Batch numbers".
You might try the National Library of Wales website wills index for Bangor
Consistory Court - I would search under Peter (Christian name) and Peter(s)
(surname) as Grace's father might have been either. In fact, their general
manuscripts index is well worth a look, as well as that of Gwynedd Record
Office.
There was a Peters family associated with Llannor, Lleyn, around the same
time.
I hope this helps as a start.
Yours sincerely,
Ian

Morning All,
I am attempting to revive my interest in my wife?s FH but as before I
am
banging my head......
Apparently Owen WILLIAMS married Grace Peters 13/10/1765 at
LLanddeusant, Anglesey, he is from Pentraeth parish, she from Llanddyfnan.
Owen is
buried at St. Michael at Llanfiangel Din Silwy aged 44 in 1777
Owen?s parents from the possible baptism in Llanfechell in 1733 are Rhys &
Jane Williams.
Grace Peters appears as a mystery lady as the only possible baptism
is
in
Cornwall (not Impossible ) and I have not found her burial.
Any help appreciated
All the best from,
Martin Baird

Regarding the name Peters.
Peters is a surname readily found in the Llanddyfnan area of Anglesey in the
late 1700s and early 1800s.
My gggrandmother is Dina Peters [1780-1868] and born at Llanddyfnan. Her
parents were Peter Evans and Margaret Hughes of the same area.
In one of the area's local parish churches [maybe Llanddyfnan or
Llanddeusant] there are a number of headstones marking the burial of a
number of generations of this family - all using the surname Peters. These
graves are located in the back right-hand corner of the churchyard. Being in
a corner, this area is sometimes not kept as tidy as the rest of the
churchyard, but the Peters' graves and headstones are there.
If this is helpful and you would like further info, email me on
johnlewisaus(a)hotmail.com Thanks, John Lewis
