More correctly Llanlliana is between Amlwch and Cemaes (nearer to Cemaes) on the north
coast of Anglesey, it is now a very small hamlet but was once a triving community with a
mine and a silica works. There is still a very nice stone built chimney there.
Jane Elias GRIFFITH (no s when registered) was born 8-Jul 1874 at Groganog, Amlwch, her
father John was a carter, her mother was Mary nee JONES. They had Mary Elizabeth 28-Sep
1880. There are possibilities of other children but that would require much more time than
I have to spare at the moment. That was easy, now the WILLIAMS I really need more
information than you have given, do you know the name of the father or any siblings. There
are no obvious candidates for Thomas WILLIAMS but it was not a legal requirement to
register a birth until 1875 but by 1868 most were. Hope this helps, Dave

Subject: [AGY] Thomas Williams
Looking for the Williams family, son Thomas Williams b. 1868-70, from Anglesey. They left
Wales in 1880- 1890 sometime, for America. They took Jane Elias Griffiths, b. 1874?, with
them as a companion to their daughter who was a good friend. Jane was from Amlwch.
Williams are said to be from Llanlliana. Is that a place or a street in Amlwch?
Thank you, Debby
