Hello Paul, I've checked Llanddona, Llangoed, Llandysilio, Llandegfan,
Llaniestyn, Llanfihangel DS, Llan-faes, Penmon ie pretty well all that
corner of the island and Llannerch-y-medd. I didn't say last night that the
Beaumaris wedding was in 1842.
Arlene says that the only one she can find on freebmd is 1847 Caernarfon, I
know they aren't complete but the years you are interested in are not too
bad. From 1840 to 1850; 1843 Decq not quite done, 1844 half done, 1845 Sepq
& Decq three quarters done, 1847 Junq not quite, the other years are
complete. Caernarfon could still be a marriage in Anglesey, the part often
referred to as 'Little Anglesey', Llanidan, Newborough etc, that seems a
long shot but will try it for you when I have time. You could give me chance
to check Little Anglesey, but it would seem unlikely, Arlene / freebmd
missed the 1842 Beaumaris marriage, I guess she checked 1845 to 1848.
If those fail you could send to the government, it is not worth sending to
the local registrar in this case, expecting to loose your money, but it
might pay off and you would at least know it wasn't them.
So far what I have found for you is that they did not have a civil / chapel
marriage on Anglesey, and they didn't get married in the churches that I
have checked. Another possibility is Amlwch.
Dave

Subject: [ANG] Help! Jones Owens Wedding
Hi All,
It's payday, and that means certificates. I'm down to my last few meaningful
ones though, and there's one I just cannot find, and I'm wondering if anyone
can apply a bit of lateral thinking to the problem.
Heres what I know:
Thomas Jones b.c. 1816 in Llanerchymedd (shoemaker)
Jane (Gaynor) Owens b.c. 1826 Beaumaris/Llanddona/Llangoed (depending where
stated)
Eldest Child b. 22 May 1848 Llanerchymedd (Got birth cert)
So a marriage most likely 1845-47 in Anglesey.
The problem is, I can't see one in the indices anywhere. I tried via Dafydd
Haynes on genfair, and he couldn't find them in his indices, though he did
also look at the civil registry, and came up with a possible in 1849, but
that's a touch too late.
Anybody got any ideas?
TIA,
Paul.
