Hello Alun,
I have followed the correspondence on your query with interest and I am presuming that the
census you have looked at is the 1891 which gives Morris OWEN aged 37, Slate Quarryman
born Llandegai, Jane OWEN wife aged 45, born Rhoscolyn, and Elizabeth Jane, daughter aged
8 born Rhoscolyn. So going on to the 1901 you have found him here: Morris Owen 48Carnarvon
LlandegaiCarnarvonshireLlandegaiSlate Quarryman
So, could it be possible that Jane, although born in Rhoscolyn, was married away from her
home village, in say, Llandegai, where she may have been working when she met Morris, and
then went home to have the baby in Rhoscolyn?
This is my bent mind working again (it wasn`t like this until I started on my family
history)
There aren`t that many Morris OWEN`s around at the time, in fact only 39 in the whole of
Wales at 1881 and there are two marriages around the right time:
Morris OWEN 1871 Bangor Reg. J/A/S qtr. Vol 11b page 508
Morris OWEN 1871 Caernarvon Reg. A/M/J qtr. Vol 11b page 513
Any of these two would fit in with the birth (if first child) of Elizabeth Ann in c 1873.
No way of cross checking these unfortunately as you don`t have Jane`s maiden name.
Putting those references into Free BMD might come up with something.
Just a thought and hope it helps.

Looking for the baptism record of Elizabeth Ann Owen[s] . All I know is that
she was born about1883 , her father was Morris Owen and her mother,s
christian name was Jane. Trying to find her mother,s maiden name. Have been unable
to locate the parents marriage,or Elizabeth Ann,s birth registration, If they
did not register the birth hoping that I might glean some information from a
baptismal or Bishop,s Transcript. Believe born Llandegai /Tregarth area. The
other option is to see if Elizabeth Ann had any siblings, but have no Idea
how to go about this.In the census there seems to be only the one child
Elizabeth Ann. Any assistance would be very much appreciated. Alun.
