Jenny,
I'm busy with cousins from Bethesda at the moment and working swing shift.
I
will have a look for you tomorrow, unless >you get an answer sooner.
I have WILLIAMS from the same area. My 2X's grandfather moved to
Bethesda
in the late 1840's.
Sue (WELSH53(a)aol.com) checked the census. As far as she could tell, she
believes a ROBERTS family was living at Tyn y Coed in Llanddaniel Fab in
1841. We are questioning whether this is the wife's family. Here's what
she found:
Hugh Robets, 55 Farmer
Mary Roberts, 65
Margaret Roberts, 20
Robetts Roberts, 15
Mary Williams 25 Farm Servant
John Williams 15
Still makes you wonder what happened to the WILLIAMS side.
Someone did a look up for me before Ancestry put the 1851 census on line.
The body of her email (regarding the 1851 census) stated the following:
"LLanddaniel Fab, is on the island of Anglesey.
Folio 20. Tyn y Coed Farm
John Williams 48, Freehold Farmer ,60 acres employing 1 lab. , Wife Ann 50,
John 16, Hugh 14 all born Penmynydd, William 11 , Ellen 9 borth born
LLanfihangel din Silwy, Robert 6 born Penmynydd, Margaret Williams servant
19 born Llangeinwen." [Note: We do know that Ann's maiden name was ROBERTS]
Thanks for any suggestions on figuring out this mystery :-)
Jenny Volker
