I am afraid that I have already tried to find coroners' records for another tragedy
without success - the 1843 "Monk" Steamer sinking. I had to rely on Caernarfon
Record Office, newspapers, graveyards (you may have to dig around), and Bangor University
Archives.
It MIGHT also be useful to think about whether you can search in East End newspapers or
archives but I wouldn't know anything about the logistics of that.
You could start by searching for your ancestor's name on
www.a2a.org.uk.
The newspapers would have reported coroners' findings with reasonable detail apart
from lists of informants and biographical information - which would be so useful to us but
of limited interest to the newspaper readers of the time.Try emailing iss177(a)bangor.ac.uk
- Mrs Simpson is one of the archivists at Bangor.
Yours,
Ian
