Dave,
You just might have looked this up for me earlier..age creeps in you know....and I
didn't have anything put in my tree information, so...But I do now! And thanks for
giving me the information to send away for copies of the records. That is usually a
problem for me, trying to find out where to go to get them!
Many Thanks for all your help
;)
GOD BLESS,
Christine Maguire-Hollars

Hello Christine, did I look these up for you before? If not I am sure that I
have done it for someone else, let me know and I will try to put you in
touch. The following is from my birth index, which is completed from the
start of registration until the end of 1852 along with many births from 1853
onwards.
GRAY Donald Macdonald son of James & Ellen formerly MACDONALD born
01-Jul 1846 in Holyhead Registered in Holyhead book 3 page 78 entry
387. James was an engineer living at Newry Lane, Holyhead.
GRAY James Colin son of James & Ellen formerly MACDONALD born 20-May
1848 in Holyhead Registered in Holyhead book 4 page 57 entry 283.
James was an engineer living at Well St. Holyhead.
GRAY Robert Frederick son of James & Ellen formerly MACDONALD born 12-Jun
1844 in Holyhead Registered in Holyhead book 3 page 3 entry 11. James
was an engineer living at Well St. Holyhead.
I hope these will have helped. If you want a birth certificate, it is all
too easy, no proof of anything required. Just write a letter to
Superintendant Registrar, Registry Office, Shire Hall, Glanhwfa Road,
Llangefni, Anglesey, Wales, UK, LL77 7TW. Enclosing a stamped addressed
envelope (A4 with large envelope postage if you don't want it folded) and a
cheque for £7.00 made out to Isle of Anglesey County Council. If you want
any of the 3 above, give the name of the child that you want the certificate
for, the parents and quote the references I have given, eg Donald would be
Holyhead book 3 page 78 entry 387. They are very quick if you have used my
index first.
I hope this helps, best wishes Dave
Ps anyone fancy doing some work this winter to help this project along.

Hi Listers,
I am new to the list so pardon if it seems a little jumbled.
I am looking for any information offered about Donald McDonald Gray b) 19
Jul 1846 in Holyhead. His parents were James GRay and Ella Campbell
McDonald both of Scotland but were married in Holyhead in 1840. They had
several children all born in Holyhead. Ellen died in Scotland. Could anyone
tell me where I might go to get a copy of Donald's Birth Record? ( and if I
have to document relationship to get it) And possibly find out what kind of
work his father did in Wales that would take him from Scotland. Would that
be on the census records?
Many Thanks
GOD BLESS,
Christine Maguire-Hollars
