Ann(e) (ie) Jones did not marry Edward Williams on Anglesey. There are only
4 marriages between 1837 and 1937, Most around 1900, there is one in 1873 in
Trefdraeth, but her father was John. Have you tried the ukbmd site for
Lancashire, I am not sure how far they have got, but it and the office are
very helpful as long as you have done the searching first. By the way I have
some photos for you of Pentre Garreg bach, I will send them one day this
week. Best wishes Dave

Subject: [AGY] Edward Williams / Ann Jones Marriage
Hi, I'm not sure if anyoneu can help me. It's like finding a needle in a
haystack. I am trying to find the marriage after 1851 of Ann Jones b.1835
Llanfair M.E. daughter of Owen Jones (Labourer/Farmer) and Edward Williams
b.1835 of Amlwch. Ann Jones is found on the 1841 Census living at Pentre
Garrog with her family, I have been unable to locate her in 1851.
I believe Edward's father to be Lewis Williams and Elizabeth Hughes from
information I have found on the Amlwch site but this is speculation, on the
1841 Wales Census living on Rose Lane but who knows with the Welsh name
game, this could be a different family and I'm on the wrong track. I made
the daring assumption because the name Lewis has come down through the
family.
In 1861 Ann Jones is already married to Edward Williams and living in
Everton, Liverpool. Edward and Ann later had children that carried down
names from Edward's family, ie Elizabeth, Martha, Edward, and Lewis (which
are also the names of Edward's siblings on 1841 Census). Owen Williams
(after Ann's father), the first child stated on 1861 England Census was
b.c1859 (aged 2yrs on census), unless they had a previous child that died, I
am assuming they were most likely married 1857/1858.
I would appreciate any help in narrowing this marriage down as the names are
very common.
Thank you.
p.s. A date to keep in mind is Oct 17 1853 which is inscribed in a tiny
welsh bible that I have with Ann's name in it. There is no clue as to what
the date stands for, and I have found nothing on the bmd sites to suggest
this as a marriage date.
