I read with interest all the postings, but very rarely submit anything.
However, I am taking a trip to Wales in May and hope to pursue some of my
"brick walls". My great-grandmother was Ann Jones, born 1862 in Amlwch.
Her
father was John Jones, born Amlwch in 1831, son of Thomas and Elizabeth.
He
married Mary Williams in 1856, who was born in Llandyfrydog, Anglesey.
Mary's father was Hugh (a smelter). I have John's parents, Thomas and
Elizabeth in 1851 on Brick street.
In the 1861 census, John is listed as a ships hobbler. John and Mary are
both buried in Llanelian church.
What I wonder is, does anyone have parish records that might give me more
information on this family. With names like Ann and John Jones, it is
very
hard to narrow things down on the internet from here. Also, where is the
best place for me to visit when I am there, to get more information. I
certainly plan to check out the cemetery where they are buried, but would
love to get my hands on some parish records at the same time.
