I can't help specifically but maybe you should file the following administration bond
if you haven't already -
1850 - William Matthew of Ty'n Fynnon Penrhoslligwy Angelsey - widow Catherine
(inventory mentions sloop Yera - or Zera - Yera, I think).
I find the websites of Gwynedd Archives, the National Library of Wales, A2A.org.uk, all
useful to search.
Rhydbont Bridge is mentioned in the 1804 administration of John Jones innkeeper so maybe
there was an inn there? There also seems to have been a shop and a number of other
properties including "Rhydbont Fry".
Pontrhydpont & variants are mentioned in the NLW will database in searching for
Rhoscolyn but no wills seem linked - I wonder if that would be a useful point to start?
You could look at all Rhoscolyn wills 1790-1858, for example for mentions. As Shadrack
was a mariner, it might also be useful to look in Holyhead and other ports like
Llanbeblig.
Welsh mariners
http://www.welshmariners.org.uk/ not helpful, it would seem.

I am researching the family of Shadrach Mat(t)hews (b c 1791 and also known as Israel
Mathews), mariner of Rhoscolyn, and Mary Williams (b c 1791 place unknown, possibly
Holyhead or Caernarvonshire according to different censuses. They married at Capel Curig
in 1811. The marriage bond mentions Pontrhydbont in the parish of Rhosgolyn, and I wonder
if this rings a bell with anyone? Shadrach/Israel died between 1851 and 1861.
Their children were:
1. Elizabeth Ann Mathews b c1813 Holyhead Reg who married
William Kinrade in Liverpool 1838 and had a son, William b c
1839
2. Margaret Mathews b c 1825 Liverpool
3. Jane Mathews b 1829-1831
who married 1stly Thomas Kinrade and had 3 children:
Mary Jane Kinrade b 1853 Liverpool
William Kinrade b c1855 Liverpool
Thomas Charles Kinrade b Sep Q 1856 Liverpool
and 2ndly Thomas Hulse and had a further 4 children:
Elizabeth Ann Hulse b 1865 Warrington
Margaret Hulse b c 1867 Newton
Sarah Hulse b 1868 Warrington
Frederick Hulse b c1877 Newton
I realise that most of these people were born/lived in Liverpool, but I am hoping that
someone on the Anglesey List might recognize Shadrach and Mary and have them in their
tree.
I have been able to find a sister Elizabeth for Mary Williams but am interested to know
more about Shadrach's background/ family, so would be delighted if anyone can help
with either the Mathews side or even the Williamses.
Best wishes,
Judith Mair (N. London)
