I hope the following brief notes might be of use:
Rev Morris Hughes
Born Croesfryn, Llanbedrgoch, Anglesey in 1787; reputedly great grandson of
Lewis Morris (1701-1765, Llewelyn Ddu o Fon). He was educated at
Ystradmeurig and Kington Grammar Schools and St Aidan's Birkenhead. In 1811
ordained as Deacon, 1812 ordained Priest. He was a Curate in Llangristiolus
and also St Ann's, Bethesda. In 1852 or 1854 he obtained the living of
Pentraeth (Llanfair betws geraint) and Llanbedrgoch. He had a brother who
was a doctor; was related to the Morris' of Anglesey and was often visited
by and corresponded with Sir Lewis Morris. He died 17 August 1878. He left
some property for charitable purposes.
Rev Joseph William Griffith
Born 1831. Graduated from Jesus College, Oxford in 1852. Curate in Llandudno
1852-1855; Vicar of Trefeglwys, Montgomeryshire 1855-1861; Vicar Bettws y
Coed 1861-1878; Rector of Pentraeth and Llanbedrgoch 1878 until his death 15
February 1894. His funeral service was held in Bettws y Coed. He served for
14 years as Inspector of Schools for Tindaethwy and was also the Rural Dean
of Tindaethwy. He was a Justice of the Peace in Montgomeryshire and also in
Caernarfonshire. One of his sons was Edward Byrne Griffith who died in
Sydney, Australia in 1900 aged 36.

Would anyone on the list have either of these 2 Reverends in their family
tree or have any information about them please?
Morris/Maurice Hughes was Rector of Pentraeth 1854-1878 and he was followed
by Joseph William Griffith, who died there 19.2.1894.
