Thanks for your reply. No I'm not descended from him at all but from his
father's second marriage!! I haven't found his baptism either nor a sister,
although it's possible that they just haven't been recorded in the early
years of Pentrefoelas parish register so I didn't know about them until I
found their father's will. And found Thomas's marriage first of all from the
marriage bonds on the NLW's website. I will try to get to see the parish
register sometime although I won't gain much more than what you have already
given me.
Thank you
Angharad

No, Angharad, it didn't say he was a widower. Just a note to say
that the
parish registers for St. Cybi's are not photographed pictures of the
actual
records. They have been typed by someone. Everything is short form such
as
My for Mary, Mgt for Margaret, Jn for John and Ow for Owen. Whether the
original book is like that I don't know. Needless to say the typed copies
have been checked by others and have check marks. The N is written in not
typed. Above and below, it looks more like a check or an x. So you are
probably right.
This is the way the entry was typed.
(First line) Nov 2 OWEN Tho Aelwyd-bris
(Second line) CERRIGYDRUIDION
(Third line) (N Deub (u crossed out)) By Lic & Ann spr HUGHES
(Fourth line) Wit Jn Richards & Rob Evans
If you don't mind me asking. Are you descended from his 1st or 2nd
marriage?
All the best,
Hilery
