Dear Gordon, Have you tried the IGI for the births below? I know Aberdaron are on there
with the batch numbers listed
on:http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchN...
word of caution: before parishes got their own chapels, many "outliers" are
found in Penlan Pwllheli (records from 1785 onwards) making the already difficult
1800-1837 period even more frustrating! So this shows an Ann was xned in Aberdaron in Nov
1807 daughter of Owen and Elizabeth. Farms were given in the register at this date, I
think, from memory. There are 10 options for John (son of John X or someone called Jones)
in Aberdaron. In west Caernarfonshire at this date, many families would still be using
patronymics, as I am sure you will know. I have found VERY successful (in other words,
locating a mystery ancestor in this period) going through the wills on the NLW website for
a parish and its neighbours (
www.llgc.org.uk) - so, for Aberdaron, you could start with
Ann and look for all Owen wills (both as a christian name and a surname) from 1807. From
their marriage, they might even be named as a couple. If you know later farm names, it is
worth trying earlier references to the same place (again, starting with wills) as an 1810
will may, for example, mention a grandchild who turns out to be one of your brick walls.

Hi list
With three of my four grandparents being Welsh-born (the only exception
being my paternal EVANS line - stubbornly English going back to at least
1695) it's hardly surprising that the majority of my brick walls are firmly
rooted in the Principality.
Some of the descendants of the following people (all of them my ancestors)
had found their way to the Bootle and Walton-on-the-Hill areas of Liverpool
by the early 1900's, and I'd dearly love to hear from anyone, anywhere, who
can positively identify any of them in their own family tree :-
