Anyone with this man in their family tree may be interested to
know that there's an auction coming up soon which includes no fewer than
nine water colour paintings he made of North Wales landscapes.
Although baptised plain Hugh WILLIAMS on 8 January 1861 in Liverpool St
Thomas, he adopted the name Warren in adult life - ostensibly after his
paternal grandparents' farmstead home 'Bodwaren' in Holyhead. He also gave
the middle name Warren to all six of his children.
On 17 February 1892, in Bidston St Oswald, he married my 1st cousin twice
removed Cicely JONES (b1869 New Brighton) - she almost certainly being born
and/or raised in my EVANS line's ancestral family pub viz the 'Little
Brighton Inn' (aka the 'Jenny Lind') in Upper Brighton.
The couple's first three children were all born in New Brighton, the fourth
in Cemaes (Anglesey), the fifth in Moelfre (also Anglesey) and the sixth in
Conway.
For details of the auction, and depictions of the paintings (on which click

PS. Bags I lot 180, being as I can see the Great Orme from my bedroom
window. :-)
Best regards
