I am wondering if anybody has the following people or places in their tree:
- Henry Owen, born 1785 at Bodhenog, Llandegfan, died 1872
at Abergwyngregyn.
- Edward Owen, born c1786 at Bodhenog, Llandegfan, married in
1818 Perry Roberts (born 1794), died 1874 at Bwlchgwyn, Pentre
Berw. Other associated places are Twll y Clawdd, Penmynydd;
Penrhyn Bach, Llangeinwen; Tyddyn Llewellyn Farm; Mostic
House, Llandysilio; Ysgoldy Mawr, and Hen Hafod, Llanddyfnan.
- Owen Owens, born 1783 at Bodhenog, Llandegfan, married before
1851 by which date his wife had died. He died after 1871 when he
was living at Llosg yr odyn, Llanidan and listed his occupation as
a retired publican.
- Mary Owen, born 1791-2- at Bodhenog, Llandegfan, married in
1826 Owen Owens (b 1788-9), lived at Braint, Penmynydd and
died 1860 .
They had several children including Harriet Owens,
(b 1828) who married John Chambers and lived at Carrog ,
Llangristiolus, and Castellor. They had 6 children and Harriet
died in 1883.
- Jane Owen born 1797 at Bodhenog, Llandegfan who married at
Liverpool in 1817 John Rowlands, a coal merchant and captain of
the sloop 'Fanny' ( b c1794). They lived at Cadnant and Jane died
in 1849.
They had 9 children, including:
- Hugh Rowlands ( b 1822) who in 1851 was the licensee of
the George and Dragon at Beaumaris with his wife Susannah
(nee Jones)
- Mary Ann Rowlands ( b1857) who married twice - 1st to
Robert Owen ( b 1854 Llanfachreth, died 1895?) and 2nd to
John W Thomas (b1848, Holyhead) who became the licensee
of the Liverpool Arms, Packet Road, Llandysilio
- John Rowlands, (b 1825) Coal merchant of Menai Bridge who
lived at the Packet Road Shop, died 1876.
- Eleanor Rowlands (b 1829) who married Edward
Rowlands, a licensed victualler from Middx, in 1849. They
lived at the Auckland Arms, Packet Road Llandysilio from
1851-1881.
- Mary Rowlands (b 1832) who married Griffith Edwards, a
ship's carpenter and boat builder of Green Bank, Llandysilio.
She died in 1900, having had 4 children.
- Captain Edward Owen Rowlands, of the ship Etta, who
died at sea in 1869.
- William Owen born c 1793 who married Jane Parry in 1823 at
Llandegfan.They lived at 16 Mount Pleasant, Pennebo Rd,
Llandysilio in 1841 and were of Mount Pleasant when they died
in 1874 and 1864 respectively. They had 1 known child -
Henry Owens b Mar Q 1842 at Llandegfan who married at
Bangor in 1869 Catherine Jones. Henry was a mariner
who had died by 1891. in 1928 when Catherine died she
was of Buarth, Pentraeth.
- Evan Owen born 1798 at Llandegfan, married Mary ____ by
1841, when they were living at Llwydfaen, Caerhun, Caern.
They had at least 2 children - Ellen Owen b c 1837 and Richard
Owen b 1840.
- Ann Owen, born 1800 at Llandegfan, who married John Jones
1828-30 and lived at Bodhenog and then Llosg yr odyn, Llanidan.
She died in 1879 and was buried at Gaerwen, Llanfihangel
Ysceifiog. They had 2 children -
Edward Owen Jones, b 1831at Llandegfan, who married
Anne Thomas in Swansea in 1856,
and John L Jones b 1841 at Beaumaris who married Catherine
Lewis (b 1840, Llanfihangel y Pennant, Merionethshire.)
I have managed to find living relations from 4 of these Owen branches, but would love to
find a few more!
