Dear Nancy,
The Parish of Llantrisant is lies next to the Parish I live in. Llantrisant
has two parish churches - the The old Parish Church of SS Afran,Ieuan and
Sannan dating back to the late 14th Cent. is located in the middle of
fields. It was teplaced by a new church some two miles away in 1899.Although
the older church continued to be used from time to time no sevices have been
held there for many years.
I have a copy of the Memorial Inscriptions for the Old church - there are
quite a few Jones's listed.
The 'new' church does not have that many graves and has yet to be listed -
but it would be easy to check out.
The Anglesey County Archives, Town Hall, Llangefni, Anglesey. hold copies of
Parish Registers(births, marriages & deaths)
Llantrisant. Ref.WPE/5. Baptisms 1747- 1905
Marriages 1745-1969
Deaths 1746 - 1960
It may well be worthwhile looking at the neighbouring Parish -
LLanddeusant WPE/4.
All three Churches are within 4 miles of each other.
If you wrote to the Archivist at Llangefni - I sure they would look up any
entries for you. As for the 1901 Census -this has yet to be made public.
I hope this has been of some help.
Maldwyn Jones.
