I remember seeing a posting either on the Anglesey or the Gwynedd mailing
list. It referred to the "Stamp" Hughes. At the time I couldn't
understand the message. Now I have re-discovered that my gggrandfather
was born at the Stamp Office in Amlwch, Anglesey in 1840 and wonder if
this is a connection. He was George Morgan Hughes, and his parents were
Capt. John Hughes (b.1800 - Brig Agnes) and Anne Morgan Hughes, whose
children are:
Ellen Hughes - b. 1824
Mary Hughes - b. 1828
John Hughes - b. 1830
Jane Hughes - b. 1832
William Morgan Hughes - b. 1832
Edward Morgan Hughes - b. 1835
Anne Hughes - b. 1837
Geo. Morgan Hughes - b. 1840 Stamp Office, Amlwch
children: John, Geo. . M. , Wm. L., Anne Mary , Hannah, Eleanor, James
W., Catherine Gertrude, Elisa Myfanwy, Herbert I., Emily
Maud, & Mary Jane.
Anne Hughes - b. 1842
The parents of Capt. John Hughes (b.1800) were Capt. John Hughes (b,1758)
and Ellen Paynter Hughes of Amlwch.
