My Gr-Gr-Grandfather came to America in the 1840's from Flintshire
(Holywell). He and other Welshmen were listed as members of a local
Oddfellows chapter. I can only surmise it was more of a fraternal men's
order.

Subject: [ANG] Ledger of Oddfellows
I would like to know if someone could give me an explanation as to
what
the
"Ledger of the Odd fellows were or are. I know it has something
to do with
parishioners that were assisted by others in their time of need. Also,
where
can one view this ledger? I have often thought that my
Gr-Gr-Grandfather,
Hugh THOMAS and Gr-Grandfather, Thomas HUGHES who lived in BrynEithin,
Bodedern , Anglesey might be on such a list as I know these were folks
with
limited means for the times.
Could someone please give me an explanation and if they have this document
available to them, do a look-up for my Ancestors....The time frame would
probably be from 1881-1901 or beyond...but think that 20 year period is
where
they would be...
Thank you so much.......and Nadolig Llawen to all....
