Most people who have put a Welsh surname and a north west Wales town into
Google or any other search engine will have come across Tom Rowlands'
extensive *Rowlands and others of Welsh origin site*.
Tom has written to me today to inform me that this site can no longer be
updated for technical reasons, so he has added a new URL for access to his
family tree. His message is pasted below.
I would recommend that anybody searching for family in this part of the woods
pay Tom's site a visit - if you don't find a relation there you are sure to
find a friend or neighbour of your relations. (Half of my class at school are
there! but I am still desperately trying to find a family connection ;-))
All the best
Alwyn

This is to let you know that I now have a web page at
http://home.ica.net/~tjrowlands/. It is devoted the genealogy of "Rowlands
and other Families of Welsh Origin". and it provides access to data which I
can keep up to date by periodic updates.
My genealogy data has been accessible on the web for some three years at:-
<A
HREF="http://www.uftree.net/UFT/WebPages/TomRowlands/ROWLANDS/index....
This page
was updateable, and although it can still be accessed I have recently found
that updating is no longer possible.
You are cordially invited to visit my page and to use its resources.
Collecting the data on the Rowlands tree commenced some fifteen years ago,
the project being aimed at ensuring that my family, children and
grandchildren who came to our beloved Canada some thirty years ago or were
born here should not loose touch with their roots. It is only through the
help of many relatives and friends in many parts of the World that it has
been possible to bring the data together, and I take this opportunity to
thank them all.
It is a delight to hear from visitors who have enjoyed their visit to the
data, and providing that pleasure is a fringe benefit for me. However, I am
very concious that a great deal of information is still missing and that
there might just be errors here and there. All I can ask for is your help and
co-operation in improving the quality and quantity of the data presented.
Sincerely,
Tom Rowlands.
