Hi Cathie,
the IGI has baptisms for the Independent and Baptist Chapels on Anglesey,
and there are a number of ROWLANDS listed. I noticed because an Ellen
ROWLANDS was a witness at my g-grandparents wedding, and my
g-g-g-grandmother may have been a Jane ROWLANDS of Llanedwen. Could we have
a connection?
Try the IGI search at
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_I
GI.asp&clear_form=true
(long long URL)
and also it's very informative reading complete batches which you can do from
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyAn
glesey.htm#PageTitle
Does anyone know whether the Independents and Baptists made a practice of
baptising young adults as opposed to babies?
good luck
chrissie
Seeking the above name in Anglesey. Thomas Rowland(s) born 21 Jun 1833
according to 1901 Canadian census. He had children named John and Mary Ann
both Canadian born. Other children which may have been his died at birth or
very young - names Thomas, Margaret, William. May have had a brother
William. Any info would be appreciated.
