Hello everyone,
I'm new to this list and really clutching at straws.
I realize the surname of Williams is very common, and all
the "information" I have is "hand-me-down." from a now
deceased uncle that didn't really know if he was correct.
He thought his grandmother, my great grandmother, Annie Williams
was from a small village called Pant which is near a town
called Llanymyneck, south of Oswestry. Her family is said to
have left Wales at the beginning of the 20th century, moved to
Yorkshire, England where they purchased a farm at Sutton, Yorkshire.
I do not know Annie's parents and siblings names, or any dates of
birth, marriage and death. Annie's birth year is said to be 1856.
In England Annie met and married Charles Haggas before 1877.
They had ten children born in England and about 1912 migrated to
New York State, USA to work in mills there. Many of their grown
children followed them. US family members do not seem to know
their history or care to know!
Any help and suggestions greatly appreciated.
