Hi Ann, Thanks for the reply to my query, If there are 12 John Hughes born
in 1853 in Anglesey, How many of those were born in Beaumaris in that year,
If you can tell me that then it would narrow the search tremendously, Hope
I'm not appearing too pushy, I don't want that.
Kindest Regards,
Mike In Canada.

Dear Mike,
Better to wait for the marriage certificate as then you will have a father's
name and occupation (possibly a residence too if very lucky) to search the
1861 census. Fingers crossed for an unusual name for the father!
I haven't looked at how many John Hughes were born in Beaumaris in 1853 but
you would have to extend that time period to allow for the uncertainties in
ages (eg +/- 2 years) and I can bet there were lots! Better wait and you'll
have some more info.
Good luck!
Ian

Hi Everyone, I am new to the list, and I am searching out the surname
Hughes Main one being John Hughes [ b ] 1853 in Beaumaris and lived there
until approximately 1871, found him in 1877 when he married Alice Chrimes
which led to 8 children, I have sent for the marriage certificate hoping to
find his parents, hoping that his fathers name is not John, I wonder just
how many Hughes were born in Beamaris in the year 1853, I do not have access
to the U K site so if someone could be so kind as to take a boo for me I
would appreciate it.
Kindest Regards,
Mike Lee,
Ontario, Canada.
I would be grateful if anyone could look up the censuses for 1841 and
1851 for Plas in Llanbadrig.
I have an ancestor Owen Jones who according to the 1851 census in
Liverpool, was born in Amlwch around 1823, but the birthplace in the
1861 census is difficult to read. The 1871 census has a birthplace that
looks like ---bedr- (Llanbedrgoch or Llanbadrig? But Llanbadrig is far
more likely to be described as near Amlwch).
Owen married at Nannerch, Flintshire in 1849, and was living at
Liverpool, but his father was a farmer called William Jones.
Having checked a website that has christenings 1806-1837 for Methodist
chapels in Anglesey, I have found a very likely candidate in Owen Jones
who was born in September 1822, at Plas, Llanbadrig, and christened at
Bethesda chapel, Cemaes. His father is a farmer called William, and his
mother is Mary (formerly Jones).
I would be grateful for a census lookup for that farm in 1841 and 1851,
which should strenghten my hunch, and give more ideas for tracing further.
Thanks.
With a lot of grateful thanks from David
