Debie, et al,
And here's the reply I sent to Michael:
This is that long-running hoax.
I just went to
http://thomas.loc.gov/ and did a search on all bills with
the word "internet" in them. The latest (that I found) was:
105th Congress, S.442, Oct 98, which specifically *prohibits* any new
taxes on Internet access or e-commerce, for a period of 3 years. This
bill, as near as I can tell, is currently referred to committee(s) in
the house (ref:S.442.RFH)
There were no similar bills newly introduced in the 106th Congress.
Please don't pass this on any farther. I've seen this same "call to
action" for 3 years on the 'Net. It may have been true once, but it's
not right now.
Actually, if you want to do something, have your rep get the above bill
*out* of committee and into existence. It provides for a 3 year
moratorium on any new taxes! *That's* something to push for!
Happy Hunting!

Hi All,
This letter was sent to me in the morning mail. I urge all of you to go to
the website listed and please write to your reprensentative and let him/her
know how you feel about this bill passing.
If they pass this bill and start charging for the internet, alot of us
will be done having the financial ability to use it, me being one of them.
I have already sent a letter urging my rep to vote against it, please take
the time and do the same before the internet is no longer free.
Thanks, Debie
