Hi All...
Me again...your friendly WI USGenWeb Archives *TEMPORARY* File Manager :-)
Many people have asked me about Sue Baker. She is taking a leave of absence
due to family and work responsibilities. My understanding is that she is
well. The WI USGenWeb Archives will be active upon her return! I have not
been in personal contact with Sue, so files submitted to her prior to August
20, 1999, may need to be resubmitted. I apologize for the inconvenience, but
in the genealogy business..."Family comes First". I am very happy to be able
to help while Sue takes a well deserved break.
I was asked, and accepted the responsibility for the WI USGenWeb Archives. I
look forward to working with all of the county coordinators, town
coordinators and many contributors of the WI USGenWeb Project in providing
the links to the resources within the WI USGenWeb Archives, and the entire
USGenWeb Project. I hope each of you will provide a link to the resources,
and contact me and/or your County File Manager if you have questions or
concerns.
I have, *I think*, successfully changed email links and names so that all
material submitted to the WI GenWeb Archives is submitted to me or your WI US
GenWeb Archive County File Manager. I have also updated the email links on
all affiliated "WI Special Project Pages" assessable from
http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/wi/wifiles.htm
Many have asked about my interest and involvement in the USGenWeb Project,
and WI USGenWeb Project Archives. So I will answer:
"My involvement with the USGenWeb Project Archives began as a submitter to
the ME USGenWeb Archives. I am presently assisting with the ME USGenWeb
Archives, serve as the Archives file manager for the State of VT, host the
State of Maine, and the State of New Hampshire Tombstone Transcription
Project pages, and serve as the USGenWeb Archives Pensions Project
Coordinator. I take a great deal of satisfaction and pride in "providing
free genealogical information on-line."
"My involvement with the USGenWeb Project began with my hosting of Hancock
County, ME USGenWeb Project County site in 1997. With that adventure, I
began to learn HTML and learn to present my research and knowledge of that
county to the visitors. Over the past 2 1/2 years my involvement with the
State of Maine USGenWeb Project has grown to include Kennebec and Somerset
Counties. I serve as the Assistant State Coordinator, and also assist with
the ME USGenWeb Archives Project."
I have just been elected to serve as the Northeast/North Central County
Coordinator Representative. I will represent the states of Connecticut,
Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York,
Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and YES Wisconsin!
I am very excited about serving temporarily as you WI USGenWeb Archives File
Manager, but in conjunction with that, I hope to work with all of you to
facilitate a voice and mechanism to make the USGenWeb Project in it's
entirety an AWESOME resource for the entire Internet community.
Thanks to all of you for your patience and questions...It has brought to my
attention links that needed attention. Please, all of you, continue to do
so... I really look forward to working with you in Sue's absence.
Tina
