Well, it's happened. The link to the Military Records Project has been
removed from the national USGenWeb page effectively removing it from The
USGenWeb Project. They took this action because I placed the page on
the
usgenweb.com server. They apparantly are so concerned about their
"war" against Jerry Dill that they are not concerned with the best
interest of the researcher. The Military Records page belongs to ME and
no one else - on either side of this war! I do with it as I choose. If
the National Coordinator and the Board are petty enough to remove me
simply because of the server I choose to place my page on - well, what's
next? If it can happen to me - a person up till now very involved in
USGenWeb in several states on both the county and Archive level, and
supposedly friends with a lot of these very people now screaming at me -
then it can certainly happen to you!
I will continue to proudly display the USGenWeb logo because I firmly
believe in the ideals it was established for. I will continue to accept
military files from donors and forward them to the appropriate USGW
Archives Coordinator. I will continue to collect links to make the
website bigger and better for the researcher. My work will continue,
despite this display of disrespect.
I'm not asking anyone to do anything they don't want to do, but if
anyone feels like the Military Records page provides a valuable service
to genealogy researchers and wants to make sure people can find it, I
would appreciate a link to it.

Also, please feel free to pass the URL around on other genealogy lists.
Thank you all very much for your consideration.
