Well folks, I've got some REALLY good news! It would appear we have a new
query system ready to go for those who chose to use it. I have NOT read
everything on it yet, so please please don't ask me any questions about it
:) When you go the URL listed below, you will see who to ask. You do not
have to use it, it is your choice, but I am going to recommend it.
Apparently, it takes care of the queries for you, freeing you to do other
things with your pages.
Speaking of which, I would GREATLY appreciate it if sometime next week you
would go through your pages and check all your links, especially those
"neighbor" links. As we all know, they do change from time to time and it
is important we keep them up to date.
Thanks!
Robin

Hello all...
Pam has done a marvelous job of finetuning and streamlining the new query
system, and we have already made some major changes that will make it
easier for any who wish, to get up and running with it.
First and foremost, we will not be putting up any new state boards for
evaluation purposes. We now have just one board that everyone will use to
evaluate the system, whether they are a SC or a CC or both.
The URL for the board is:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgwqury/BBS/index.cgi
All are invited to see the system for themselves, and post any questions
they may have. The answers will likewise be posted to the board.
This means that you will no longer have to explain the system to anyone...
just send them directly to the new board so they can evaluate it for
themselves.
You will also not have to worry about sending us county lists or passwords
or activating the counties for your CCs. Directions will automatically be
sent to anyone requesting to use the system, telling them how to do it
themselves and explaining the password proceedure. We will even allow
them to assign their own password. Hopefully this will make it easier for
them to remember what it is, and we DO NOT need to know what it is.
If your CC's ask, it's OK for them to change their passwords. Caution them
again however about the importance of making it very unique. The passwords
*do* get encrypted, but we still want them to make it next to impossible
for a determined hacker to figure out what it is. <grin>
The new procedures should make it easier for all of us. Less involvement
(and work <g>) on our part .... more control on the part of the CC. And it
couldn't be easier! Anyone interested is welcome.
Thanks for participating!
Nancy & Pam
