Dear fellow CCs,
The Wisconsin State Genealogical Society has been publishing cemetery
inscriptions in its newsletter for many years. The Society's leadership
wanted to make these inscriptions more easily available to the
genealogical community, especially those from back issues. As a result a
new area of the WSGS web site has been developed, namely the cemetery
index pages. These pages are organized alphabetically by county with a
listing of each cemetery whose inscriptions (either in whole or in part)
have been published in the newsletter over the years. The location or
township and the number of newsletter pages each cemetery covers is
listed. At the top of each page is an address where you can write to
request copies of the relevant pages. There is a small fee to cover
postage and copying costs.
The site is still being developed, and will be continually updated as
each issue of the newsletter publishes more Wisconsin cemetery
inscriptions. Check it out and please add a link to your specific
county's table (or the main page if there isn't one yet). If you find a
problem with the site, please let me know.
