It's very easy to "install". Once you have applied for the page and
receive
the URL all you do is add it as a regular link on your page.
True it doesn't place the queries alphabetically, but the system does make an
alphabetical surname list, plus has a search engine for each county that lets
the user search on any word in the query. (The system also has a search engine
that will search all counties). Users have the option of being notified by e-
mail when someone posts a response to their query as well as being able to
sign up to be notified of every new post for the county. GenConnect offers
far more to the user than we would have time to do ourselves.
About the logos - before it was called GenConnect the system was for USGenWeb
counties only and had a USGenWeb logo and the state logo on each page. Then
the hosts for the WorldGenWeb pages wanted to use it for their pages too, so
the system was expanded and the logos no longer placed on each page. There is
a logo for GenConnect which takes the user to the General Search Engine, plus
a link back to the county page.
