Hi All,
I just had to write and tell al off you about this. I discovered something
today while at the R. of D. office. As a matter of fact, I will be copying
them to put on my Genweb page. In 1905 a law was enacted, forcing anyone
who had any kind of accident to have it recorded. These files were kept at
the R. of D. offices. This law stayed enacted until 1908. I found a couple
for sure that were killed and were never registered in the deaths indexes.
For Sheboygan County, we had 138 accident reports filed, everything from a
kid being tossed from a wagon and striking his head before being run over
by a run-away team and being killed to a 38 year old guy who tripped over a
rock and fell striking his knee and injuring it while trout fishing.
I wanted to let you know about this in the event that some of you live in
your county and want to go check on this,
