Hi! I just got a nice note from Barbara and I thought I would pass this to
all you in Wisconsin and see what you think...
I have yet to check it out... (grin) R/S MAK
Greetings from a former Wisconsinite!
Now living in Escondido, CA (husband retired Naval officer).
Saw your post to Rootsweb. May I make a suggestion?
Why not contribute those obituaries your volunteers are so faithfully
gathering to the OBITUARY DAILY TIMES (ODT)? That way you would get a
worldwide audience.
Please take a look at this website and become a subscriber:
<GEN-OBIT-request(a)apple.rootsweb.com>.
This is a FREE service and you can become a contributor to the list!
The ODT is a daily index of published obits. It is usually sent once a day,
and has approx. 1500-2000+ entries a day from around the world. The ODT
mailing list is intended mostly (but not only) for Family Historians,
researchers and compilers of family data (like one name studies).
The ODT coordinator for the list for Wisconsin obits can be reached at:
<pegmar(a)mhtc.net> if you want more information.
Just trying to let more people know about the ODT. One advantage of this list
is that people, like you and me, do not have to search all over the place for
obits from the many newspapers in the US.
Good luck, hope you check out the GEN-OBIT site.
