Question for Tina & Tim,
I do know for a fact that it has "always" been a USGenWeb Rule to be
subscribed to the state list.
The question I have is this
Since several still seem to be unsubbed to it, (since they show as "by way
of Tim Stowell"), and have been unsubbed since before I was Election Chair
Person and helped out during the elections, with what seems as no recourse
of action, what will be the course of action after Jan 15, 2000 for any and
all that fail to abide by the "New" rules set forth, (without being voted on
may I add) ??
Most emails that I forward have been from CCs that for whatever reason
tried to send mail to the list using an address that they have other than
the one subscribed to this list. When someone does that, I get a bounced
message which I then forward to the list thereby creating the 'by way of
Tim Stowell' blurb.
This does not mean that the CC in question isn't subbed to the list at all
but that they used the wrong address to send mail to the list. I have at
least 3 different email addresses - the one you see here, one for work and
one I have reject messages sent to. Sometime I too forget to use the
correct address when sending mail and alas my mail will bounce to the
listowner whoever that might be.
Every page must have a pointer to the Wisconsin State Page. It is
encouraged
that a link, also be included to the Wisconsin County Selection List
maintained by the Assistant State Coordinator. It would also be helpful to
individuals interested in hosting WI County pages, if a note be included
instructing individuals to contact the state coordinator and give his/her
email address, and county of interest. The current Wisconsin State
Coordinator is Tina Vickery. The Assistant State Coordinator is Tim Stowell.
I believe and practice that each of my county sites - have a link back to
the main state site and/or county selection page. I also include
information referring folks to the SC by name and email address regarding
hosting a county. All this stuff occurs on my main county page. Sub pages
may or may not have logos but mainly link back to the main county page.
Depending on the content of the page it may link to other parts of the
project.
That said - for Richland - I have a link to the state page and Tina's
name/addy for info regarding a adopting a county.
I hope JT that this answers your questions and concerns?
Tim
and also as I have already pointed out, on our Rock County site we
have the
USGenWeb & WIGenWeb logos and even tho they themselves are linked, we also
have links to these further down on the main page. I noticed that on the
site
"http://www.rootsweb.com/~wigenweb/volunteer.html" that there is no link to
the USGenWeb site even tho there is a logo there. (I last checked it and
printed it out on 12-30-1999 at 3:48 pm CST.
If I had know prior to the election that unlike the answers I was told about
changes and such to the way things are done without proper voting and all, I
would never have voted for anyone nor participated in the election.
To me this is a "cold slap in the face" since there has not been a vote as
to make these rules.

PS An SC can be removed by 2/3 vote of all CCs in that state.
My thoughts are not neccessarily the thoughts of my co-CC and only reflect
my personal feelings on these matters.
